My Lord in Heaven,
You left the Holy Spirit with your apostles, and with this spirit we defend ourselves against evil, against the Devil.
WE MUST IMPLORE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO IMBUE US, TO FILL US WITH GOD’S LIGHT!
What is the Devil, my Lord?
Is the Devil a fallen angel?
Is the Devil a representation of sin?
Is the Devil a free agent, or is the Devil doing the work of God’s plan as a fool?
And if the Devil is God’s fool, how foolish is it to follow him?
Jesus, the one true Savior, demonstrated through His life the means of defense against evil – and this involves casting out demons, exorcism.
But the battle against the Devil will only succeed if we live the Kingdom Life – the life of a true disciple.
Our weapons against evil? Guns? Bombs? Swords? – no.
Our weapons against evil are: love, peace, liberty, respect, dignity, communication, community and kindness …
Love, our greatest weapon against the Devil, cannot be defeated – only through rejection of love are we defeated.
Father, protect us. You are our bulwark against the Devil.
Father, may Your servants, Your children, learn the true defense – to be and act as followers of Christ … to do unto others what we would have done to us … to choose peace over war.
In Your name, Jesus Christ, we serve.
